Gluteal Implants
These implants provide a specific and controllable amount of augmentation to buttocks that are deemed too small, flat or droopy to the patient. The implants are gel filled and fabricated
in shapes, types and sizes specifically for this purpose. The surgery is done
under regional, (epidural), anesthesia. A vertical incision at the superior end
of the crease between the buttocks is made a tunnel is developed to each side.
A pocket is made within the large gluteus muscle and the implant is
introduced.
After the procedure, the patient must wear a compression garment for 3
weeks. It is important for the patient to follow specific instructions especially
in regards to how to sit. Additional liposuction on adjacent areas can enhance
the result.
