Botox
Botox is an organic natural toxin that has the effect of temporarily paralyzing
the muscles into which it is injected. In areas where the constant and long
term action certain muscles cause the skin to crease and form
“expression lines”, such as crow’s feet around the eyes and furrows on
the forehead and between the eyebrows, a popular solution is to
immobilize the muscles to give a more relaxed and youthful appearance.
There is slight discomfort as a specific number of units are injected into de
desired areas. The patient can go home with orders neither to rub the areas
nor to lie down for at least 4 hrs. The effect appears in 2 to 7 days and lasts
for several months. The most frequent complication is a droopy eyelid for a
few weeks.
